Application of centrifuge filters

Centrifuge filters (centrifugal tube filter) are supplied with a range of filtration and separation media. A 10.0 µm mesh is available for the filtration of coarse particulates, they are also available with a range of ultrafiltration membranes which can separate macromolecules, such as proteins, based on differences in their molecular weights.

The centrifuge filters are compatible with all common centrifuge rotors and holders. Filtrate can be stored in the receiving tube after centrifugation eliminating the need for a separate storage tube.

Applications

  • HPLC sample preparation
  • Biotechnology and life science
  • Environmental research
  • Removal of microspheres in aqueous solution
  • Filtration of river waters
  • Protein separation from sample matrices
  • Removal of precipitates (metals, polymers, or crystals)
  • Applications requiring maximum filtrate recovery from limited sample volumes
  • Isolation of DNA from agarose gel slices
  • Removal of cells from media prior to analysis
  • Separate oligonucleotides and RNA from acrylamide gels
